Visual Sound: A3/A4 Moires + Finals

Visual Sound

These are some examples of my final pieces that I created for my moire animations. I worked with scale and printed my designs on A3 paper, there are also designs that were printed on A4 paper and both reacted differently when scaled up and scaled down. This project was a lot of fun to create and it was great seeing people interact with my work because it made for an exciting experience and people commented on how amazing my work was.

Visual Sound: Final Exhibition

Visual Sound

Today I had my final exhibition for the visual sound project I’ve been working on. It was an amazing experience to finally have my work up on the wall and people really loved to interact with my moire designs. I really enjoyed this project, it was a fun but a hard experience to go through trying to make all my design work and researching how moire animation works successfully.

Visual Sound: Digital Moire Animations

To develop my ideas further with my moire animations, I wanted to create a video from each design and have physical copies so people could interact with the designs and also watch the video I’m going to create. I screen recorded my videos using Quicktime Player and was able to move my moire animations with Photoshop. The next step I’m going to take with this project is editing my screen recordings in Premiere and adding my audio.

After Effects Animation

Visual Sound

Today we had an After Effects workshop all about animation. The first part of the tutorial was to animate a ball so we could get familiar with the software; it was quite challenging at first because we had to visualise how a bouncing ball moved and apply it do our animation. We successfully animated the ball and moved onto the next task.

The next task we were asked to do was go into Adobe Stock and look for a space satellite so we could animate it and set it on a computer screen as if somebody was watching a film. It was quite a straightforward tutorial but animating the satellite was the most challenging part because it required a lot of layers.
